CONCEPT

This bar concept was designed for 2 enterpreneur chefs that wanted to open up their own restaurant-bar and pitch it to the investors. 

Bar Oost is a place to try Middle Eastern inspired cuisine. Bar Oost will be able to serve restaurant-worthy dishes in an accessible environment. In the late hours there is a groovy vibe with different music styles and theme nights. The music in Bar Oost is a mix of disco, hip-hop, soul, funk, salsa, reggaeton and dancehall.

With that on the hand I had a freedom to give my own interpretation of what Bar Oost could become in its interior.

INSPIRATION

The mood for the Bar Oost is a mix of eclectic elements. Retro 70s colors prints and objects, botanical interiors and jungle-like feel, saturated colors of Middle Eastern cultures and classiy-modern furniture.

LOOK & FEEL

Look & Feel of the bar Oost is rich in color and plants. Vivid patterns are used for floor and and retro prints used as wall decor. Mirror is the interior give mystical feel as well as recalling Middle easterd vibes. Color palette is from yellow-orange energy burst to greens and calming blues. There is always a combination of contemporary and traditional elements with retro accents.

Authentic. Middle Eastern fusion. Eclectic. Creative kitchen. Dining with nature. Vivid Disco.

ZONING

This is a concept layout. The real location for the bar was still not chosen at the time.

There are three types of flooring that gives different functions to the space. The outer ring is the dining, lounging area. The middle ring is a movement path which converts into a disco dance floor in the night.The third one is the bar area – more private, concentrated spot.

The bar is a centerpiece in the interior. Reflections of the mirrors give elegant playfulness to the space. The translucent orange color of the ceiling is energizing. 

cozy nook

On the left side of the entrance, there is a lounge seating area. More cozy and unique due to some dividers that enclose the space. Couch and armchairs provide an informal and comfortable seating arrangement.

fusion of prints

The interior of bar Oost has many prints and patterns. Some retro style, some contemporary patterns for the materials. It is balancing out between the past and the present.
